Other Polls have my Approval Rating at 65%, and more! Like Journalists, Honest Pollsters are very rare and hard to find! President DJT

False

No public poll had him near 65 percent. The one he was boosting said 50.

When he posted this, he was amplifying a Newsmax column by John McLaughlin, his own longtime campaign pollster. That survey put his approval at 50 percent, not 65. His chosen source did not support his number.

The independent picture was lower still. Polling averages had him around 38 to 40 percent that week, and an NPR/PBS/Marist poll released days earlier put him at 36 percent, the lowest of his second term. No credible public survey showed anything close to 65.

It is a small claim, and that is the point. The figure is not just unsupported by the pollsters he dismisses as dishonest. It is contradicted by the one he chose to cite.

He does this a lot.

The 65 percent post was not a one-off. When the real numbers are bad, which has been most of his second term, he posts a better one.

Oct 29, 2025Asked about serving a third term, he said he had "the best numbers for any president in many years." His net approval was roughly 15 points underwater at the time. CNN rated it false. (CNN)
Nov 22, 2025 · Truth Social"I have just gotten the highest poll numbers of my 'political career.'" The averages had him near 41 percent, close to the lowest of his career. PolitiFact rated it False. (PolitiFact)
Jun 24, 2026 · Truth SocialTwo days before the post above: "MY REAL POLL NUMBERS ARE THE HIGHEST THEY HAVE EVER BEEN." They were not. Independent averages sat around 38 to 40 percent. (archived post)

When the numbers are bad, he says they're rigged.

The other half of the habit. He does not only post a better number. He attacks the polls themselves as fake, rigged, or criminal. Here, in full, are three.

Great Pollster John McLaughlin, one of the most highly respected in the industry, has just stated that The Failing New York Times Poll, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll, about a person named DONALD J. TRUMP, ME, are FAKE POLLS FROM FAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS. The New York Times has only 37% Trump 2024 voters, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll has only 34% Trump Voters, unheard of numbers unless looking for a negative result, which they are. These people should be investigated for ELECTION FRAUD, and add in the FoxNews Pollster while you're at it. They are Negative Criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I WIN ELECTIONS BIG, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse.

So many Fake Polls are being shown by the Radical Left Media, all slanted heavily toward Democrats and Far Left Wingers. In the Fair Polls, and even the Reasonable Polls, I have the Best Numbers I have ever had and, why shouldn't I? I ended eight Wars, created the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country, kept Prices, Inflation, and Taxes down, and am setting standards for Right Track / Wrong Track for a future U.S.A.

The polls are rigged even more than the writers. The real number is 64%, and why not, our Country is 'hotter' than ever before. Isn't it nice to have a STRONG BORDER, No Inflation, a powerful Military, and great Economy??? Happy New Year!

Why that does not hold up

The "rigged" polls include the ones he likes. They are not only left-leaning outlets. Fox News, which he cites when it suits him, had him at a record low near 39 to 41 percent. Rasmussen, the pollster he praises most, hit a second-term low of 45 percent in November 2025. In the April post above he even demanded the Fox News pollster be investigated. When the pollsters on his own side show the same slide, "the radical left rigged it" has nothing left to explain.

You cannot cherry-pick an average. The figures that had him in the low 40s and underwater were not single polls but averages of dozens of pollsters using different methods and carrying different leanings, and they landed within a few points of one another. Rigging the average would mean rigging nearly all of them at once, including the friendly ones.

The "real" polls are never shown. The 64 percent on December 31 came with no survey, no pollster, no sample, and no method attached. The closest friendly figure anyone could find was around 50 percent, from Trafalgar. A number that is never produced cannot be checked, and an unverifiable claim is not evidence that the published polls are wrong. (The Hill)

The recent record runs the other way. The American Association for Public Opinion Research found the 2024 election polls were accurate and, if anything, underestimated Trump and Republican support, the third cycle in a row they did. A systematic bias against him is the opposite of what the last election showed.

The tell is the inconsistency. The same firms and the same methods are authoritative when the numbers are good and "fake" when they are not. The polling did not change between these posts. Only whether he liked the result did.

This is one post in a running series that sets a recent Truth Social claim beside the record.
